A number of members of the UN Security Council have raised the question of whether President Donald Trump’s administration is “actively undermining human rights in the world”, and “polarising” the global community. The UN secretary general, António Guterres, has called the Trump administration “an affront to international law”, and is worried by its approach to human rights.
Yet despite its rhetoric, America remains a promine속초출장안마nt and active supporter of the UN, a position it has adopted from the very beginning of the UN’s existence.

This comes at a time when, at the UN General Assembly, Secretary General Antonio Guterres has strongly spoken about the importance of UN action to protect human rights.
“I do worry that there’s a polarization of our international community when a great country like the United States supports the UN … We support the UN in all of its important work,” said Guterres, adding that his nation, and its citizens, should pay “the price for a failure of the UN system”.
But Trump may be moving towards undermining UN institutions, ac여수출장안마cording to many people familiar with the matter.
“It’s all the rhetoric — ‘Don’t touch UN stuff! We will defend human rights wherever you do stuff. Be safe’,” said a US embassy official who would not be named and requested anonymity. “But when he was elected he decided that no one could question his ability to say or do anything because he would have the authority to do so.”
