A number of police officers have been suspended following their involvement in a night out with suspected alcohol drinkers, the General Service Police (GSP).

Senior constable Mark Borton, a member of the Force’s High Performance Crime Unit who overs샌즈 카지노aw the raid on a home in west Belfast earlier this month, has been named as one of 15 police officers arrested following Operation Rainsdon.

The officer is an assistant sergeant of the GSP’s Major Counter Terrorism Team.

A statement issued by GSP yesterday said: “A team of officers arrested on Thursday evening in Co Donegal, led by senior officer Mark Borton, has been released pending further inquiries.

“The arrests have been linked to a suspected alcohol related incident in Donegal City, and additional members of the team have been interviewed and released on bail pending further inquiries.

“Any enquiries into a further named victim of the incident who may or may not be a current or former member of our GSP, as well as enquiries relating to alleged involvement in drug trade or criminal activities may also be made in the circumstances.”

Detectives from Operation Rainsdon have been making inquiries since Thursday night.

They remain in place at the home of the officers, located just two miles from the site of an earlier GSP raid.

The operation, codenamed Rainsdon, was carried out by detectives from the police counter terrorism and specialist taskforce unit (STASU) after the killing of 26-year-old James Boyd in south Belfast last year.

“On this morning we spoke to the accused in relation to his alleged involvement in the drug trade in Donegal City and to an incident that occurred some time ago in Co Donegal,” a GSP statement read.
