Wa govt fails to submit business case for perth freight link

Business cases submitted to the Federal Government by major firms, including Melbourne-based GVK, show Australia’s railways industry is “lagged” when it comes to ensuring a new freight link between Perth and Sydney더킹카지노 is possible, a top business lobby group has warned.
The group of companies have received nearly $1.2 million in payments from Transport for Melbourne since 2012 to provide advice and consultation as it develops a major new passenger corridor between the Perth and Sydney areas.
Mr Turnbull’s office confirmed this week the Federal Government provided the companies with a series of “preliminary proposals” to see if rail services were required but the submissions, given to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau and approved by the Government, are now in the process of being evaluated.
Mr Turnbull said in the announcement that the proposals would be “substantially similar”.
“These proposed changes require extensive analysis, assessment and development on both sides to ensure we have the necessary infrastructure for this proposed network,” Mr Turnbull said.
A series of business and industry groups have challenged the Government’s plans, calling them far from perfect and saying the freight link could be del바카라사이트ayed by more than three years or even more.
Mr Turnbull’s office acknowledged the projects presented by the business and industry groups were a “comprehensive package of proposals, which included a number of options for how this project can be successfully implemented”.
“To allow more time for the analysis and the feedback from the Australian Rail Agency, the proposals have been assessed. As per Federal Government policy, this process is ongoing,” a spokesman said.
“The Department has no intention to delay the construction of the rail link.”
Transport for Melbourne executive director Neil Wilson said the freight link “was a critical part of the development plan”.
“It was designed for maximum efficiency, but of course there’s always room for improvement. The industry had given us a detailed and detailed look at many different options, and those have been reviewed by the Federal Government,” Mr Wilson said.
“The Government has clearly stated it would look at every option.”
However, the Government has since rejected the advice and the company has said that only an interim solution was proposed.
The transport authority has since moved ahead with a rail link to the port of Perth.
