“The Walking Dead” fans in particular will appreciate an opportunity to witness two of its more recent characters on-screen — Norman Reedus (Ollie) and Sasha Frere-Jones (Negan) — playing one another in season 2, which will include an episode of the same name next spring.
Casting has been under consideration for the lead role of Eugene on the series, which had been assumed to be Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of the survivors of the apocalypse until the return in the last few episodes.
CNBC News first reported last month on the development that CBS has decided to return the series in an expanded and darker format, with the network adding the possibility of a second season.
It’s not yet clear if or when “The Walking Dead” season 2 will air.
